Sessions
Keynote Speaker for Students
Dayna
Steele is a popular speaker and emcee, entrepreneur,
writer, voiceover artist and the author of "Rock
To The Top: What I Learned About Success from The World’s
Greatest Rock Stars." She reigned for years as
Houston's “First Lady of Radio,” building
a large army of fans known as ‘Steeleworkers.’ As
one of the top female rock and roll air personalities
in the country, Dayna was nominated as Local Radio
Personality of the Year by Billboard Magazine. Her
latest venture is Smart
Girls Rock, an online community to encourage girls
to participate in science, technology, engineering,
math, medicine and business.
Keynote Speaker for Adults
Ruth Fowler, M.Ed., LPC, MCC, is
a licensed professional counselor. She specializes
in short-term results using Rational Emotive Behavior
Therapy (REBT), combined with other modalities. She
finds that self-defeating attitudes, feelings, and
behaviors can be dramatically changed with the use
of REBT’s action-oriented, solution-oriented,
cognitive-behavioral approach. An educator for 25
years, she taught English, Creative Writing, and
career-based classes to gifted, average, and at-risk
students. In private practice as a career counselor
and therapist since 1995, clients' personal issues
induced
her to take advanced training to enhance
her counseling repertoire. As a result of her teaching
and counseling background, she is frequently called
upon to work with children and their parents. For
more information, visit Rith Fowler's Positive
Directions Website.
